he is green. naive. he has a sweet childish face and i just want to trace all the smooth edges and smudge his smell onto my fingers. he has a laughing heart and a light that shines out of his eyes like a flashing green light. go go go. live live live. he sucks in the smell after it rains like he can’t get enough. filling up every empty space of his lungs. and i wish it was me he craved. he waves his hands when he talks like the air is something to feel with every nerve. he says you can look at the sun through your eyelids and it turns them into a warm place where only you can go. i’ve tried it and it’s true. he is always out there. he is always standing back. he watches the world spin. he learns the dance and joins in. he doesn’t know that i watch him. face pressed against the glass. but he holds my hand when he finds somewhere to run. he pulls me with and never explains. he says life is adventure and adventure is surprise. so he tries to be spontaneous. but i tell him he doesn’t have to try. cause i can never keep up anyway. he is untouched by the world. he lives in his own time. and it makes me feel a little lost when i’m with him. it makes me feel almost as carefree as him. he says music is the sound of emotions and i tell him that i’m hearing cheesy love songs and my hearts skips a beat cause he just laughs and says “then so am i.” |
